The Geneva airport is an international hub of air travel that has experienced an uncommon history within just one century. This locale, dedicated to travel and encounters, has witnessed an incalculable number of visitors over time. Today, the Geneva airport has been modernized and diversified. Yet, to further this direction, the airport hopes to draw upon it (rich) past, invest in its history, and share that with the public in order to advance its many strategic initiatives.
At the time of its 100th anniversary, the Geneva Airport hoped to retrace its history through an eventful worldwide visual identity. The design strategy expressed itself through branding, film, and social network content. The main concept was first of all to highlight the airport and then to extend to the territory around Geneva in order to build a relationship of trust with travelers here and abroad.
I hoped to give this 100-year history of the Geneva airport an epic stature in time, where generations will build a work on earth that reaches to the skies. It’s about uniting under one banner both an informational presentation and an emotional appeal. In this way, the art direction envisioned giving voice to aviation code, while staying faithful to the Swiss identity (in terms of values, culture, and national identity). In this way, the visual branding we executed allowed us to communicate the history of a place that knew how to stand out among (the heights of) the Alps most beautiful mountains, while (still) planting its feet firmly on the ground.

ARTISTIC RESEARCHES
Swiss artistic guidelines,

The Helvetica Bold type font with the bold colors yellow and blue inspire a visual domain faithful to aviation code and to the country’s history.
A specific hierarchy of design allows the redirection of the public’s attention to certain informationsuch as key dates and places.
SOCIAL & INTERACTION
A connection as high as the heavens
Medias Tools
In order to impress the heart and to make generations of travelers and professional aviators dream, social media content provided the chance to create intimacy with the public. Through a collection of various historic photography, the Geneva Airport recreated a family photo album in social media of yesterday’s and tomorrow’s travelers.
