A New Franco-Swiss Vision
A Good Time Production is a distinctive Franco-Swiss film company that quickly established itself as a significant force in producing and distributing cinematic works. Founded in 2019 through the powerful collaboration of industry veterans Georges Kern, Yvan Attal, and Charlotte Gainsbourg for the release of the film My Stupid Dog, the company made an immediate and striking debut in the world of the 7th Art with its first feature-length release. This powerful beginning—combining production expertise with directorial and acting prestige—required a sophisticated brand foundation that could honor the company’s immediate credibility while setting the stage for ambitious future projects across both European and international markets.
Homage to the Seventies Auteurs
he mandate for the branding was rooted in the philosophy of looking back in order to move forward. The production house specifically sought to pay homage to the iconic, revolutionary cinema of the 1970s—a transformative era marked by the defiant rise of auteurs like Francis Ford Coppola and Martin Scorsese. Drawing directly from the raw, character-driven energy of this period, I crafted a minimalist visual identity defined by an insistent emphasis on stark contrasts. The typography was specifically influenced by the bold, commercial aesthetics of 1970s New York, directly mirroring the visual language often seen in the gritty, urban films that defined the decade.
The Graphic Language of Contrast
The resulting identity operates as a rich, cinematic graphic language achieved through deliberate aesthetic choices. By playing extensively with light and shadow, positive and negative space, the branding evokes the high-contrast drama and tension inherent in great storytelling. This visual system strategically bridges the timelessness of classic cinema with the forward-looking ambitions of A Good Time Production. The final design is sophisticated, powerful, and serves as a visual promise: a studio committed to producing cinematic works that are both deeply rooted in historical artistry and resolutely focused on shaping the future narrative of film.

For the love of classic cinema

The succession of black-and-white type characters recalls the culture of cult brands that formed the identity of the 70s film mystique.

Like filming a scene, the typography brings life to meanings that evolve given light and motion.
