World Drone Racing is one of the largest drone racing organizations in the world. Based in France, the company organizes international competitions with the best drone pilots. Between a technical art and an esport, the practice of this discipline has accelerated at great speed in recent years. Beyond the organization of competitions, World Drone Racing trains the elite of drone piloting within its academy and sponsors the most talented pilots.

Caught up in the success of this discipline, the WDR wished to reorganize its commercial offering through its key areas: event organization, sponsorship, broadcasting, hardware and logistical development, and training. For its development, the team wished to reorient its communication strategy by the complete redesign of the visual identity supposed to embody the competitive and technological spirit of the WDR.

This work carried out in close collaboration with the WDR teams was an opportunity to explore creative concepts combining technology and imagination, through video games and esport performance. The sign I created for the WDR evokes the concept of elevation by borrowing elements from Star Wars and Futurama. This new identity resolutely geared towards aerial technologies redefines the lines of esports, and drone racing, in France and abroad.

Various existing visual codes related to the world of sports racing inspired me to design the elements of the WDR identity.

Italics gives a sense of rhythm, speed, and texture of the characters through an organic reference linked to geography, asphalt, and moments lived.

A set of variations for all the various physical media offers visibility on the athletes' playground while retaining coherence.
