The Iconic Duo of Luxury and Film
Since 1998, Chopard has been the official partner of the Cannes International Film Festival, forming an iconic duo with the world’s most prestigious cinematic event. This partnership goes far beyond sponsorship: Chopard is the sole creator of the legendary Palme d’Or and other prestigious trophies awarded during the ceremony. Furthermore, the Maison adorns international stars for the famed “Montée des Marches” (steps) and actively celebrates rising talent through the Trophée Chopard, firmly establishing its presence at the core of the 7th Art.
Showcasing The Golden Craft: La Palme
For the upcoming festival, Chopard's strategic goal was to showcase the intricate creation process of the Palme d’Or and, crucially, to celebrate the master artisans behind this ultimate symbol of cinematic excellence. Guided by the brand’s enduring signature, "The Artisan of Emotions," I developed a sophisticated digital and animated identity. The central purpose of this design was to bridge Chopard’s renowned expertise in high jewelry and craftsmanship with the very essence of filmmaking itself.
Designing with Cinematic Motion
The visual language for the campaign was meticulously crafted to evoke a sense of continuous motion and precision craftsmanship. Drawing deep inspiration from classic cinematic techniques, the design integrated elements such as frame rates and the patterns found in traditional film perforations. This dynamic animated identity reinforced the timeless connection between Chopard’s artistry and the Cannes Festival, positioning the brand not just as a jeweler, but as a dedicated "Artisan of Cinematic Emotions" whose work is intrinsically linked to the storytelling, movement, and enduring glamour of film.
