A Monumental Journey

In collaboration with a confidential agency, I contributed to a high-stakes pitch for the opening title sequence of the prestigious French Ligue 1. The conceptual foundation of the project was rooted in regional identity, drawing direct inspiration from the iconic monuments that define each team's specific territory. We envisioned a dynamic visual narrative that functions as a journey, weaving together monumental sculptures, architectural landmarks, and local symbols to represent the unique heritage of the league's clubs.

The Grand Gallery

The design direction reimagines these elements within a "grand playground" dimension, creating a surreal and cinematic environment. The visual journey unfolds through a conceptual space reminiscent of a futuristic Louvre, where massive stone sculptures and totem-like representations of local animals reveal themselves with grandeur. This approach elevates the sport into an art form, treating the teams' identities as permanent, celebrated fixtures within a vast, gallery-like expanse.

Heritage Electrified

To bridge the gap between this historical grandeur and the modern agility of soccer, the sequence introduces a distinct technology-driven layer. By incorporating vibrant neon lighting and an esports-inspired "connected" atmosphere, the classic stone textures are brought to life with electric intensity. The result is a seamless fusion of cultural heritage and cutting-edge digital aesthetics, capturing the competitive spirit of Ligue 1 in a light that honors its tradition while embracing a high-tech future.

I expanded my initial concept of expressive typography by placing special emphasis on the letters themselves and on the vocal expressions of the crowd.

A digital campaign was presented to raise awareness for the season opener by creatively featuring each team’s logo and key visuals. This interactive experience serves as an extension of the initial opening sequence, bringing it to life across multiple screens.
