TYPO-LOIRE

Art, Typography

BETWEEN INK AND WATER

Designed at ÉSAAB in collaboration with Maxime Ravisy and Rémy Dautin

Typo Loire is an experimental and self-initiated project focusing on typography as realized through collaboration with Rémy Dautin and Maxime Ravisy. The project consisted of creating a typeface inspired by the Loire River which runs through the center of France.

We hand-designed letters in water using a syringe filled with ink and filmed the brief moment when the ink letter dissipated in the water. When played in reverse, the video gives the impression that the letter is formed on its own, rather than being dispelled.
