DAYTONA 500

Styleframes

FLAG’S WIND

Designed pitch at Prologue Films for Fox Sports

The Daytona 500 is a five hundred mile-long NASCAR motor race held annually at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Daytona 500 is regarded as the most important and prestigious race on the NASCAR calendar. Since 1995, U.S. television ratings for the Daytona 500 have been the highest for any automobile race of the year.

In collaboration with Fox Sports, I designed styleframes for the opening title of the 2015 race (also known as the Great American Race). I developed a visual system based on the American flag and the checkered racing flag. As strong graphic symbols, the squares and lines of the flags move through the different shots.
